Viva L’Italia!

April 2012

I used to wonder how people who were retired could say that they didn’t know how they had found time to work. Now I know that there is some truth in this! I gave up working at the practice and have worked from home from the beginning of this year…I have never been so busy in my life! Admittedly, there have been some exceptional reasons for this, but I can’t really see a time when I will get up in the morning and wonder what I am going to do with my day.

The start of 2012 saw the new owners start to organise their new practice in London. They have appointed Valentina, a multi lingual practice manager to assist them and their official opening day is Tuesday 24th April. This is an invitation from Dr. Milvia di Gioia to our existing patients, new patients, friends and family:

It is indeed a great pleasure to invite you to the launch of Favero Di Gioia Costa Dental Clinic. The event is scheduled for April the 24th, 2012 from 6.00 pm. to 10.00 pm. at 18 Wimpole Street London (W1G 8GB). The purpose of this occasion is to introduce to London three leading Italian dental clinics, Clinica Favero Studio Di Gioia and Studio Costa. This event will give you an opportunity to get together with interesting people and introduce you to a wide range of dentistry topics, whilst enjoying a fine selection of Italian canapés and wines.

This is an opportunity that many of us have been waiting for a long time. It is an occasion where we can discuss our professional opinions concerning oral health, prevention, and the famous Made in Italy love of aesthetics and details of our finest dentistry.

On the day, from 10.00 till 17.00, there will be a wonderful occasion to receive free consultations concerning implantology, cosmetic dentistry and Facial Aesthetics. During the event each guest will receive free advice and samples of Biorepair mouthwash and toothpaste (strengthens the enamel of the teeth, softening the initial capture processes and for sensitive teeth), and Blanx (a premium whitening toothpaste).

It is a pleasure to announce that, during the evening reception, we will offer free samples of perfumes made in Italy – Sardinia from Harvey Nichols for the ladies and Canali for men. A raffle will give you the chance of winning a fabulous cosmetic package.

We hope that you will be able to join us for what will be an enjoyable evening and your presence will certainly raise the event to a higher height!

Please can you confirm your attendance at the open day as well as the reception by sending an email or call 020 7323 1960.

Kind regards,
Milvia Di Gioia

We wish them every success with their new venture in London, and can recommend them to any of our patients seeking general and cosmetic dental treatment , and implants.

Nick and I have recently returned from a trip to the beautiful Italian city of Verona, where Nick was giving a talk about Oralift to the Poeisis Society. Milvia had organised the conference in Verona and Dr. Ezio de Costa is the president. I understand that it is a society devoted to the concept of improving facial aesthetics. There were some very eminent speakers and Nick felt privileged to take part.

As always, I am more concerned with the social side of such events, and am truly indebted to Milvia and her colleagues for giving us the true gastronomic Italian experience! Verona is close to some of the most famous Italian wineries and we were invited to enjoy some of the most exquisite local wines, to accompany some truly sensational dishes. Viva L’Italia indeed!

Our other news this year, apart from a successful CQC inspection, is that the Oralift pilot study at King’s is going well and we look forward to the results being published later this year. Now is the time to look for investors to take this treatment to the next level and make it universally available. Oralift is the reason Nick continues to work (along with his beloved denture work of course!), and he remains focused and determined to establish it as a clinically proven treatment to address and delay the signs of facial ageing.
